Goal: The Student will be able to use homonyms correctly in sentences with a 75% accuracy.

Objective: The student will read a sentence and choose the homonym that will correctly complete the sentence.

Description of Activity: The students will begin the lesson by first watching a power point presentation that describes homonyms. This presentation will give them the meaning of a homonym and several examples to help them understand. To watch this presentation, the student will need to click on the following link: Power Point Presentation. When finished with this presentation, the student will have the opportunity to practice more homonyms by playing a matching game on the internet called "A Feast of Homonyms." This game will allow the student to recognize the many different homonyms that are presented in the English Language. To play this game, the student will need to click on the link provided next and then click on the word "matching". The student may continue to play this game for any amount of time they desire. Assessment: The student will be assessed on homonyms by taking a quiz on the internet. The quiz consist of 12 questions with a set of homonyms to answer each question. The student will choose the correct homonym for the sentence by clicking on the word. When finished with the quiz go to the bottom of the page and click "Submit". The quiz will then be graded and give automatic feedback to the student by giving them a score of how many correct with a percentage and checking the box before the questions they got wrong. After the student is finished reviewing his/her score, they should print the page and give to the teacher for a grade.
